Mashavu enables medical professionals to connect with patients using cell phones and the Internet. Trained operators at Mashavu kiosks use various biomedical devices to collect essential medical information, including weight, body temperature, lung capacity, and blood pressure. Web servers aggregate this information from various Mashavu stations and provide it on a Web-based portal. Local physicians or nurses can view the patient’s information and respond to the patient with their recommendations, usually via mobile phone.
