mHealth Summit: Session on 12/7 - Real World Experiences: Delivering Health Messages through Mobile Phones to Expectant and New Mothers

The power of health in every mama’s hand

Improving quality, improving outcomes …

Join us for a discussion about increasing access to health information for pregnant women and new mothers.

Share your wisdom and experience at a working session at the mHealth Summit, “Real World Experiences: Delivering Health Messages through Mobile Phones to Expectant and New Mothers.”

The session is designed to capture practical knowledge and advice from all participants.  Choose a roundtable discussion from a set of topics, all led by experts in the mHealth ecosystem:

·     Engaging Mobile Network Operators: Craig Friderichs, Director of Health, GSMA

·     Generating Evidence: Patty Mechael, Executive Director, mHealth Alliance

·     Creating Relevant Health Content: Daphne Metland, Editorial Director, BabyCenter

·     Marketing Strategies for the Base of the Pyramid: Ananya Raihan, Executive Director, D.NET

·     Creating a Sustainable Business Model through Public-Private Partnerships: Pam Riley, Senior mHealth Advisor, Abt Associates

·     Getting Started: Marcha Neethling, Head of Operations, Praekelt Foundation

·     Building for Scale: Tim Wood, Director Mobile Health Innovation, Grameen Foundation

The session will take place December 7th at 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and is hosted by the Mobile Alliance for Maternal Action (MAMA).  We will begin with an overview by Joanne Stevens of MAMA South Africa of the MAMA Partnership and progress to-date, followed by an overview of the roundtable discussion by each expert discussion leader.

We anticipate rich and lively discussions that will both feed the expanding MAMA Partnership and also be useful for all participants who are interested in improving maternal and child health through mobile message delivery.

Content from the session will be shared on www.Healthunbound.org .

Arrive early – this session is in high demand. We look forward to seeing you there!
