Why have a collaboration space?
Why have a collaboration space?
Innovation increasingly requires collaboration among diverse networks, such as nonprofits, government agencies, corporations, and private citizens to drive new systems to solve old problems. These networks promise a wider range of ideas, better use of resources, and faster solutions than do traditional, single focus entities. However, if these diverse organizations continue to meet only the needs of the organizations there will be duplication of effort and inefficiencies of time and money spent on the problems.
In the area of health this is evident as more and more organizations see the potential for the use of mobile devices to meet the system needs that will lead to the improvement of the delivery of health services in low resources settings, referred to as the base of the pyramid.
Going forward, innovation is likely to happen not just within individual sectors, but in the spaces between the different sectors and different organizations.
The mHealth System Integration (mHSI) initiative at Health Unbound (HUB) is set up for this type of collaboration environment. HUB can be used as the collaboration platform, and technical expertise of the participating organizations can provide the content and the plug-and-play expertise for the development of mHealth systems.
There will be various mHealth systems developed as part of this effort but they all should start from a base of information that is already know. Thus each system is a next generation system and not reinventing something that is already done.
Join with us on the collaborative journey by making the lessons learned and applications that you have develop part of this space on HUB. Contact us at admin@healthunbkound.org or comment in the discussion area, mHealth Systems Integration Collaboration Space, about how this site can be improved.
Finally, add your project to HUB and help the larger mHealth community move forward.
